Gorgeous Type-2 Silver Eagle Design
Obverse: Lady Liberty is illustrated on the obverse walking towards the rising sun. She is enveloped in the folds of an American flag, with a bundle of long oak and laurel branches cradled in her arm. Inscribed “LIBERTY,” “2022,” “IN GOD WE TRUST” and the artist’s “AW” monogram. The powerful patriotic image initially appeared on the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar coin designed by award-winning medallic sculptor Adolph A. Weinman.
Reverse: The reverse features an eagle in flight, with its wings raised in preparation for landing, and an oak branch intended for its nest in its grip. Inscribed “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” “ONE DOLLAR” and “W.” The Type-2 Eagle Landing graphic is the work of Emily Damstra, a U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program artist since 2014.
