Exquisite New Eagle Design by Emily Damstra
Obverse: Liberty carries branches in the early morning sun in Adolph Weinman’s obverse design. The design comes from his Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Obverse inscriptions include “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2021.” Adolph Weinman played an important role in the early 20th century American numismatic renaissance. His two most famous contributions to the effort were the Walking Liberty Half Dollar and the Mercury Dime.
Reverse: The reverse features a new design for the first time since the beginning of the series. Emily Damstra depicts an eagle preparing to land with an oak branch. Inscriptions along the rim provide the name of the issuing country, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” the face value of the coin, “ONE DOLLAR,” and its metal content, “1 OZ. FINE SILVER.” Also included on this face is the statutory motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
