Exquisite Basketball Symbolism
The obverse of this dome shaped coin is concave. The design here shows 3 different basketball players as they all reach for the ball while it travels through the air. A net is depicted in the background, the date and mintmark are also on this side.
The design on the reverse really fits with the convex shape of this surface. A basketball is shown as it enters the hoop, it’s just about to go through the net.

This specimen was certified by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) and it has a Hall of Fame label to show its grade. Since this commemorative half dollar is completely free of imperfections and it was submitted during its first 30 days of issue, it received the grade of Proof 70 and the First Strike designation.
