Description
1969 US Mint Uncirculated Coin Set
This 1969 US Mint Uncirculated Coin Set is one of the last ones to contain a 40% silver Kennedy Half Dollar, before the U.S. Mint transferred to cupronickel coins. The set includes 3 pennies, 2 nickels, 2 dimes, 2 quarters, and 1 Kennedy Half Dollar.
This set is made up of ten coins in total, five from the Philadelphia Mint and five from the Denver Mint. Those five include a Lincoln cent, a Jefferson nickel, a Roosevelt dime, a Washington quarter, and a Kennedy half dollar.
The coins in the set are very traditional. Among the five presidents, only Lincoln faces to the right of the coin, while the others face in the opposite direction. The Lincoln penny and the Jefferson nickel both bear realistic designs on the reverse, the Lincoln Memorial and Monticello respectively, while the others feature symbolic imagery.
While many collectors may appreciate this 1969 US Mint Uncirculated Coin Set, the fact that it is one of the last mint sets to include silver makes this one especially significant. While these coins may suffer some toning, the definition of the design and inscriptions remains in good condition.
