Striking Liberty Design by Antonio de Francisci
Obverse: Both faces of this coin bear designs by Antonio de Francisci. On the obverse, Liberty faces left with a radiate crown on her head. The national motto, “IN GOD WE TRVST,” is split by the effigy. Rim inscriptions offer the central figure’s name, “LIBERTY,” and the date, “2023.”
Reverse: The national bird, a bald eagle, stands proudly perched on a rocky crag as the rays of the morning sun spread out behind him on the reverse. The bird splits an inscription of the face value of the coin, “ONE DOLLAR.” Additional reverse inscriptions include the name of the issuing country, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” the second statutory motto, “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and the name of the coin, “PEACE.” Antonio de Francisci
