2015 Silver Eagle Design
The front of the Silver Eagle shows a design originally created by Adolph A. Weinman. This is an updated version of the Walking Liberty design once used for the half dollar. Here Liberty is shown walking across the horizon with the sun shining brightly. She has one arm extended and is carrying a bundle of branches with the other. This side is inscribed with the words “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2015.”
The reverse shows a bald eagle design created by John Mercanti. The eagle has a banner in its beak which reads “E PLURIBUS UNUM.” This side is also inscribed with “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” and “ONE DOLLAR.”
