Description

2001-S US Mint Clad Proof Coin Set GEM Proof in Original Mint Packaging

This 10-piece 2001 Clad United States Proof Set includes the following coins:

Sacagawea Dollar

Kennedy Half-Dollar

New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Kentucky State Quarters

Jefferson Nickel

Roosevelt Dime

Lincoln Penny

All coins are double struck to achieve the maximum perfection of the mirror surfaces, and special dies are used for this purpose. Each proof coin features double-struck frosted engravings along with mirror fields in the background. Five of these coins (five quarters) present one-year-only designs. All of the coins in this set were minted at the San Francisco Mint and carry the “S” Mint mark. As was done in the year prior, this set was packaged in a blue-themed box. The State Quarters and five other coins were placed in separate lenses before being placed into a cardboard box.

The U.S. Mint has issued the total number of these sets to be 2,294,909 mintage for the entire world. As that number is remarkably low, this becomes a major factor for collectors and a high value item in the world of numismatics. Furthermore, a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) from the United States Mint is included in this packaging which provides detailed descriptions for each coin and their respective images along with the information for each set. Additionally, the COA provides further guarantee of each of the coin’s weight, purity, and overall quality.
