Charming Panda Mother and Cub Design
Obverse: The obverse is graced with an amazingly detailed rendition of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests in the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. Inscriptions include “2024” and “People’s Republic of China” in Mandarin characters.
Reverse: The reverse features a seated mother panda leaning forward to offer guidance to her curious cub, while surrounded by the abundant foliage of a low tree branch. “30 g Au .999” is inscribed above, with “500 Yuan” below. The image was created by acclaimed Chinese artist Huang Qin, recipient of the Coin of the Year (COTY) award in the Best Gold Coin category in 2021, and designer of the 2022 panda series graphic.
