Obverse: On the obverse, Lady Liberty is portrayed walking towards the rising sun, with the flag of the United States elegantly draped around her form. Inscriptions include “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” “2023” and the artist’s monogram “AW.” This classic image by early 20th century sculptor Adolph A. Weinman first appeared on the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar.
Reverse: The reverse depicts an airborne eagle preparing to land, with an oak branch in its grip. Inscribed “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and the “W” Mint mark. The distinctive Type-2 eagle landing graphic was designed by U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program artist Emily Damstra.
