Four U.S. Coinage Classics with Six Single Year of Issue Designs
Included in the set is an iconic Kennedy half dollar, Roosevelt dime, Jefferson nickel and Lincoln penny. The 2022 Native American $1 coin is a tribute to U.S. Army officer Ely S. Parker, a member of the Tonawanda Seneca tribe who served as the military secretary to General Ulysses S. Grant during the Civil War, and penned the surrender documents at Appomattox.
The five American Women Quarters in the set honor Maya Angelou (award-winning author), Dr. Sally Ride (physicist and first American woman in space), Wilma Mankiller (Cherokee Nation’s first female Principal Chief), Nina Otero-Warren (leader of New Mexico’s suffrage movement), and Anna May Wong (Hollywood’s first Chinese-American film star). The obverse of the quarters feature a rendition of George Washington by acclaimed early 20th century sculptor Laura Gardin Fraser. The portrait was originally recommended for the launch of the 1932 Washington Quarter by the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts.
