Historic American Designs
Obverse: Adolph Weinman designed this timeless Walking Liberty image used on the obverse of the American Silver Eagle. Liberty is shown in full length as she holds the U.S. flag, and symbols of Strength and Prosperity in the form of oak and laurel branches. Included with the new reverse design Weinman’s initials have been added to the obverse, as originally designed.
Reverse: The reverse of the coin features an image from wildlife and scientific illustrator and numismatic designer Emily Damstra. The image is a strong Eagle landing on an oak branch.
