Burnished American Silver Eagles were first introduced by the United States Mint in 2006 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the American Eagle Series. Featuring the same iconic reverse and obverse design as bullion and proof Silver Eagles, Burnished examples have an almost satiny, matte-like finish. Issued every year since then, except for 2009 and 2010, burnished varieties often feature lower mintages than their bullion and Proof American Eagle counterparts.
