Check and Money Order Instructions

By choosing Check/Money Order as your method of payment you are usually entitled to a discount. You must complete the process explained below within five (5) business days to retain the discount you will receive. If your Check/Money Order payment is not received in that amount of time your order will be canceled.

If paying with a Check/Money Order, in order to complete the payment process, please remit your Check/Money Order to the address below. Please make your Check/Money Order payable to Modern Coin Mart.

Please have your name and address pre-printed on the check and include your order id number in the memo portion of the Check/Money Order.

Please keep in mind that all paper checks, regardless if they are personal checks, cashier’s checks, or money orders, require 10 business days to clear before entering the shipping queue. Unfortunately, we do receive fraudulent money orders and personal and cashier’s checks, and this process is imperative to ensure that the issuing bank cannot cancel or reverse the funds and prevent fraud. According to our bank’s policy, this is most often a 7 to 10-day delay. During this time, your order status will be “On Hold Clearing.” Once your order has moved to the status “Processing,” we will prepare your purchase for shipment, and an email notification will be sent.

Please remember to write your order number in the notes area on the wire form. Be aware that some financial institutions charge an outgoing wire fee. We encourage you to inquire about any possible fees before placing an order.

ModernCoinMart must receive your payment within 5 business days. Orders in which the payment is not received within the noted 5 business days may be canceled at the discretion of ModernCoinMart. Cancellation fees and any market loss will be billed and captured to the credit card provided at checkout. Any payments returned by our bank will also be assessed a $40.00 return payment fee.
