Description
Why add this 1879-O Morgan Silver Dollar PCGS MS64 to your collection?
This 1879-O Morgan Silver Dollar provides you with the opportunity to own one of the best coins of this type while avoiding the very substantial premium associated with those of higher grades. This piece was graded MS64 by the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS), one of fewer than 2,100 coins of this type to earn that grade. Fewer than 400 coins have received grades of MS66 or MS65 from PCGS, and none have received grades of MS67 or better. In terms of the design, George T. Morgan, for whom the coin is named, used Anna Willess Williams as his model for Liberty, which resulted in a marked change from previous renderings of Liberty, which had been in a Greek style. On the reverse, an eagle is largely encircled by a laurel wreath. Although it has not been minted since 1921, the Morgan silver dollar continues to be widely recognized by Americans today. Why not add one that is becoming increasingly scarce to your collection today?
