Stunning Britannia and Liberty Imagery
Obverse: The obverse is adorned with a left-facing effigy of His Majesty King Charles III. The portrait is encircled by the inscriptions “CHARLES III,” “D.G. REX. F.D.” and “100 POUNDS” and contrasted against a delicate guilloche-patterned field. The likeness of the monarch, which was approved by the King himself, was created by renowned British sculptor Martin Jennings in 2022.
Reverse: The reverse features the allegorical figures of Liberty and Britannia posed, looking in opposite directions, in the style of a playing card. Liberty of the United States holds a flaming torch of enlightenment while stars decorate her tresses. Great Britain’s Britannia wears the Corinthian helmet of an ancient warrior while grasping a trident. Inscribed “BRITANNIA AND LIBERTY,” “2024,” and “1 OZ 999.9 FINE GOLD.”

This 2024 Britannia and Liberty one hundred-pound coin from The Royal Mint of Great Britain was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) for review. Featuring a superior-quality strike, virtually flawless surfaces, and magnificent eye appeal, the 1 oz. gold coin was judged to be in nearly perfect Mint State 69 condition. The coin is encased in a sonically sealed protective holder, accompanied by the traditional brown variety certification label of the NGC.
