The monarch’s image is accompanied by the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II,” “SOLOMON ISLANDS,” “$5” and “1 OZ AG 999.” This interpretation of the Queen was designed by acclaimed British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998.
Reverse: On the reverse, Father Frost and the Snow Maiden stand together, dressed in matching pale blue, fur-trimmed winter coats. The couple is joined in a snow-covered forest setting by an array of woodland creatures, which include a bird, squirrel, deer and rabbits. Snowflakes of varied shapes and sizes appear in the sky above, while a traditional domed Russian cathedral appears in the background. Inscribed “2023” and “FATHER FROST AND SNOW MAIDEN.”
