Striking Morgan le Fay Design
Obverse: Gracing the obverse is a portrait of King Charles III that was designed by Martin Jennings. Following tradition, Charles faces left, the opposite direction of his predecessor, Queen Elizabeth II. His name and abbreviated Latin title, “CHARLES III D G REX F D,” is inscribed along the rim, as is the coin’s face value, “2 POUNDS.” Martin Jennings is a British sculptor who specializes in the figurative tradition.
Reverse: The reverse features a stunning look at Morgan le Fay that was designed by David Lawrence. The central figure wears a winged headpiece and stands ready to summon dark magic. Her name, “MORGAN LE FEY,” is inscribed on the rim frame, as are the coin’s weight and purity, “1 OZ FINE SILVER 999,” and date, “2024.” David Lawrence is an illustrator and sculptor.
