Striking Pipe Organ Design by Thomas Pesenodorfer
Obverse: Gracing the obverse is Thomas Pesenodorfer’s rendering of the large pipe organ that features in the Musikverein’s Golden Hall, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra’s home. Below are inscriptions of the coin’s weight, “1 UNZE FEINSILBER,” and date, “2024.” Rim inscriptions offer the name of the issuing country, “REPUBLIK OSTERREICH,” and the coin’s face value, “1,50 EURO.”
Reverse : Pesenodorfer’s reverse design centers on a cello, which is joined by four violins, a harp, a bassoon, and a Vienna horn. “SILBER” is inscribed at the top of the design. Along the rim is the name of the celebrated orchestra, “WEINER PHILHARMONIKER.” Thomas Pesenodorfer is a retired designer who has won numerous awards.
