Charming Wilderness Scene
Obverse: The obverse features the right facing rendition of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II that was designed in 2015 by award-winning British sculptor Jody Clark. A wide border encircling the effigy contains the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II,” “AUSTRALIA,” “1/2 OZ 9999 AG” and “50 CENTS.”
Reverse: Two rabbits are depicted amongst foliage on the reverse. One rabbit is posed alertly seated, while its companion stands on its hind legs to sniff the young buds on an overhanging tree branch. The Chinese character representing “Rabbit” is positioned on the right, along with the inscriptions “RABBIT,” “2023” and the Perth Mint mark “P.”

This Australian Lunar Series III Year of the Rabbit 2023 1/2 oz. silver proof coin is presented as received from the Mint, in beautifully struck Proof condition. The half dollar coin is nestled in an attractive, clear-lidded display case accompanied by an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity. The coin is further packaged in a rabbit themed outer box, which is part of a diorama. When the boxes from all twelve releases of the Lunar Series III coins are assembled at the conclusion of the series, an exciting depiction of The Great Race will emerge, illustrating the Chinese lunar calendar’s creation legend.
