Why order this 8-Coin U.S. 2019-S Limited Edition Silver Proof Set?
Collectors with an interest in history are sure to appreciate this Limited Edition Silver Proof Set. The set consists of eight coins, including all five 2019 America the Beautiful (ATB) Quarters. While most ATB coins feature images of America’s natural beauty, most of the ones in this set bear historical themes. Each of the quarters weighs 6.343 g. The other coins in the set are a Silver Eagle (1 oz), a Kennedy half dollar (12.685 g), and a Roosevelt dime (2.537 g). All eight coins bear the “S” mint mark of the San Francisco Mint, where they were struck from .999 fine silver.
Magnificent 2019 America the Beautiful Quarters Designs
Four of the ATB quarters have historical significance, while the fifth, Idaho’s Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, has a more common theme, i.e. America’s natural beauty. The Idaho coin’s reverse features a man in a boat enjoying the river and the trees that surround it. The Northern Mariana Islands and Guam coins both bear images honoring American forces who fought in the Pacific during World War II. The American Memorial Park (NMI) design shows a memorial, while American forces are shown going ashore in an effort to recapture Guam on the War in the Pacific National Historical Park coin. Massachusetts’s entry is a design from Lowell National Historical Park. A mill girls works at a power loom. The San Antonio Missions National Historical Park (Texas) coin pays homage to the Spanish Colonial Real and has a combination of images that celebrate the missions that served as the foundation for the city that exists today. All five quarters have John Flanagan’s portrait of President George Washington on the obverse.
The designs of the other three coins are all familiar to collectors. The Silver Eagle features Adolph Weinman’s famous Walking Liberty on the obverse and John Mercanti’s adaptation of the Great Seal of the United States on the reverse. Portraits of Presidents John F. Kennedy and Franklin Roosevelt serve as the obverse designs of the half dollar and dime, respectively. The Kennedy portrait is joined on the coin by a modified Presidential seal, while the dime’s reverse consists of two branches and a torch.
Nearly Perfect PF69 UC ER
The experts at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) certified that all eight coins in this set are in Proof 69 condition. That means that they appear perfect to the naked eye. NGC also certified the coins Ultra Cameo and Early Releases. UC certification is given to coins that exhibit particularly sharp contrasts between heavily frosted devices and deeply mirrored fields, while ER means that a coin was submitted for grading within 30 days of its release from the mint.
