Featuring the Historic Walking Liberty Design of Adolph Weinman
Obverse: The coin’s obverse bears one of the most iconic designs in American numismatic history, the Walking Liberty of Adolph Weinman. The early morning sun is beginning to rise as an American flag-draped Liberty carries laurel and oak branches under an inscription of her name. Other inscriptions on this face include the date, “2024,” and the national motto, “IN GOD WE TRUST.” Adolph Weinman immigrated to the United States from Germany. He was a prolific sculptor who designed some of the most famous coins in American history. His artist initials also appear on the obverse.
Reverse: On the reverse is a Landing Eagle design by Emily Damstra. The national bird has its wings spread as it prepares to land, carrying an oak branch. The motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM” is inscribed inside the rim inscriptions, which include the name of the issuing country, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” the coin’s face value, “ONE DOLLAR,” and its metal content, “1 OZ. FINE SILVER.” Emily Damstra earned an MFA from the University of Michigan. She works as a freelance artist, medalist, and science illustrator.
