Exquisitely Detailed Gold Eagle Design
Obverse: Lady Liberty is portrayed on the obverse as a young woman stepping forward, with an olive branch of peace and a flaming torch of enlightenment in her grasp. The design is borrowed from the 1907 Gold Double Eagle coin obverse, which was the result of a collaboration between renowned sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens and President Theodore Roosevelt. Inscriptions include “LIBERTY,” “2024,” the Mint mark “W” and the artist’s “ASG” initials in monogram format.
Reverse: A portrait of a bald eagle appears on the reverse, surrounded by the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” “50 DOLLARS” and “1 OZ. FINE GOLD.” The stunning Type-2 eagle graphic was designed by U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program artist Jennie Norris.
