Description

Why does this impressively graded First Strike 2024(W) American Silver Eagle bullion coin belong in your collection?

The American Silver Eagle is the official silver bullion coin of the United States. Introduced in 1986, the annual U.S. Mint release features powerful imagery that celebrates the national themes of freedom and liberty. While bullion Silver Eagles do not carry a mint mark, thanks to serial numbers on sealed monster boxes, the experts at third-party grading companies are able to determine from which branch of the U.S. Mint bullion Silver Eagles originated.

  • This 2024(W) American Silver Eagle bullion coin contains one Troy ounce of 99.9% fine silver.
  • The coin represents the fourth year of issue of the Type-2 style Silver Eagle.
  • The bullion coin is a product of the Mint’s West Point branch.
  • The coin includes an interrupted reeded edge to deter counterfeiting.
  • The coin received the desirable First Strike (FS) designation.
  • The U.S. legal tender one dollar denomination coin measures 40.60 mm in diameter.
  • The coin features a label commemorating its West Point Mint origin.

Imagery Honoring Liberty and Freedom

Obverse: Lady Liberty strolls towards the rising sun on the obverse while enveloped in an American flag. She carries oak and laurel branches, which are emblematic of strength and victory. Inscriptions include “LIBERTY,” “2024,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the artist’s monogram “AW.” The image is borrowed from the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar designed by sculptor Adolph A. Weinman.

Reverse: On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted with its wings majestically raised as it prepares to land with a branch of oak in its grip. Inscribed “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “ONE DOLLAR.” The Type-2 eagle landing image was designed by Emily Damstra, a member of the U.S. Mint’s Artistic Infusion Program.

Exceptional Mint State 69
