Beautiful Panda Mother and Cub Imagery
Obverse: The obverse is graced with a meticulously detailed view of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, a landmark structure located in the Beijing Temple of Heaven complex. The image border contains the inscription “People’s Republic of China” in Mandarin characters, and “2024.”
Reverse: On the reverse, a mother panda is depicted comforting her cub, while seated in a landscape adorned with smooth boulders, grass clusters and an overhanging tree branch. Inscriptions include “10 Yuan” and “1 g Au .999.” The heartwarming design is an example of the work of Chinese artist Huang Qin, creator of the 2022 Panda coin design, and a 2021 recipient of the prestigious Coin of the Year (COTY) award for Best Gold Coin.
