Featuring the Classic Walking Liberty Design of Adolph Weinman
Obverse: Gracing the obverse is Adolph Weinman’s historic Walking Liberty design. As the early morning sun begins to rise, Liberty carries branches of laurel and oak while draped in the American flag. The image is joined by inscriptions of the central figure’s name, “LIBERTY,” the national motto, “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the date, “2024.” Adolph Weinman was an immigrant who designed, among other coins, the Mercury Dime and the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. The artist’s initials, “AW,” also appear on this face of the coin.
Reverse: Three rim inscriptions, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” encircle Emily Damstra’s Eagle Landing reverse design. That design features a bald eagle preparing to land while carrying an oak branch in its talons. Also inscribed here is the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM.” Emily Damstra earned an MFA in science illustration from the University of Michigan. She has designed more than forty coins and medals for the U.S. Mint and the Royal Canadian Mint.
