Classic Walking Liberty Design by Adolph Weinman
Obverse: The coin’s obverse features the Walking Liberty design of Adolph Weinman. Liberty carries symbols of civilian and military honors, laurel and oak, in the early morning sun while draped in the American flag. This face’s inscriptions include her name, “LIBERTY,” the date, “2024,” and the national motto, “IN GOD WE TRUST.” The artist’s initials, “AW,” also appear on the obverse. Adolph Weinman designed numerous coins and medals after immigrating to the United States from Germany.
Reverse: Gracing the reverse is the Landing Eagle design of Emily Damstra. The national bird carries an oak branch in its talons as it prepares to land. Rim inscriptions provide the name of the issuing country, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” the face value of the coin, “ONE DOLLAR,” and its metal content, “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” while the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM” is included inside those inscriptions. Emily Damstra is a science illustrator with an MFA from the University of Michigan. She has contributed designs to more than 40 coins and medals for the Royal Canadian Mint and the U.S. Mint.
