Powerful Gold Eagle Design
Obverse: Fifty stars surround Lady Liberty on the obverse, as she marches forward while carrying an olive branch and a flaming torch. Inscriptions include “LIBERTY,” “2023,” “W” and the monogram “AGW,” crediting acclaimed sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens with the creation of the timeless design, which is borrowed from the 1907 Gold Double Eagle.
Reverse: The reverse features a left facing portrait of an eagle. Inscribed “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” “5 DOLLARS” and “1/10 OZ. FINE GOLD.” The stunning wildlife image is the first design for the U.S. Mint by Artistic Infusion Program Artist Jennie Norris, an Arizona based professional graphic designer.
Proof 70 Perfection
This 2023-W American Gold Eagle proof coin was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) for review within thirty days of its release date, qualifying for the collectible First Releases designation. Featuring a flawless strike, pristine surfaces and tremendous eye appeal, the coin was awarded the perfect grade of Proof 70. The 1/10 oz. gold coin also received the Ultra Cameo (UC) attribution, which describes the remarkable amount of contrast between its frosted and mirrored finishes. The coin is presented in a sonically sealed NGC protective holder accompanied by a bold eagle themed certification label which is exclusive to ModernCoinMart. The graded coin will include its original Mint issued Certificate of Authenticity.
