Meticulously Rendered Symbolic Design
Obverse: A grouping of acorns is depicted growing on an oak branch on the obverse. Inscribed “WITH FREEDOM OF THE PRESS LIBERTY BEARS FRUIT,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “2023.” This design, by U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program artist Donna Weaver, was sculpted by Joseph Menna, the Mint’s Chief Engraver since February 2019.
Reverse: The reverse features an eagle clutching an olive branch while its wings are uplifted in flight. The design is credited to U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program artist Patricia Lucas-Morris. Inscribed “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “$100,” “1OZ.,” “.9995 PLATINUM” and the West Point Mint’s “W” Mint mark.
