Inspiring Liberty and Bald Eagle Designs
Obverse: The obverse of this coin displays the classic Walking Liberty design. The first time it was used on a U.S. coin was on the half dollar in the early 1900s. This stunning Liberty design is the work of Adolph A. Weinman whose artisit initials, “AW.” appear on this face of the coin as well.
Reverse: The Eagle Landing design on this side was introduced in 2021 when it replaced the Heraldic Eagle reverse design. This design was created by Emily Damstra and shows a bald eagle descending while it carries an oak branch in its talons.
