Striking Walking Liberty Design by Adolph Weinman

Obverse: The obverse bears the Walking Liberty design that Adolph Weinman created for the half dollar. The early morning sun shines on Liberty, who carries branches while draped in the American flag. Her name, “LIBERTY,” is inscribed on this face, as are the date, “2023,” artist initials, “AW,” and the national motto, “IN GOD WE TRUST.” Adolph Weinman was a sculptor who immigrated to the United States from Germany. He was a prolific sculptor and major contributor to America’s early 20th century numismatic renaissance. Weinman’s artist initials, “AW,” also appear on this face of the coin.

Reverse: An eagle prepares to land with an oak branch in its talons in Emily Damstra’s reverse design. The bird is encircled by rim inscriptions, which read, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and “1 OZ. FINE SILVER.” Also inscribed on this face is the statutory motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM.” Emily Damstra holds an MFA from the University of Michigan. She specializes in plant and animal designs.

Virtually Flawless Proof 69 UC FR with Eagle Label

Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) provided the grading information for this piece on an eagle label. That information includes their second highest grade, Proof 69 (PF 69), as well as Ultra Cameo (UC) and First Releases (FR) certifications. The PF69 grade means that the coin appears perfect to the unaided eye. The UC designation credits the coin for having deeply mirrored fields and heavily frosted devices, while the FR certification indicates that it was submitted for grading no more than 30 days after its initial release from the mint.
