Stunning Spartans and Helen Design
Obverse: The obverse design was inspired by a scene from one of Homer’s tales. The obverse features “the Return of Helen on a Quadriga.” Above is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. This design is joined by inscriptions of the monarch’s name, “ELIZABETH II,” the coin’s face value, “5 DOLLARS,” the name of the issuing country, “COOK ISLANDS,” and the date, “2023.”
