Description
Introduced in 1982 by the Chinese Mint as the third modern gold bullion coinage in the precious metals market, the Chinese Gold Panda coins are one of the most beloved worldwide. Initially, the Chinese Gold Panda coins were measured in Troy ounces rather than Grams and available in five weights 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/20 oz but once converted are now 1 gram, 3 gram , 8 gram , 15 gram and 30 gram. Popular among collectors worldwide, in 2016, the coin series was one of the first significant coin programs to move away from Troy oz as the official weight measurement to Grams. Like its silver counterpart, the obverse of these .999 fine gold coins depicts the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in the Temple of Heaven, the centerpiece of a religious compound in south-central Beijing that has been a religious and social gathering place for centuries. The reverse of these products notoriously features annual changing giant panda designs intimately linked with the People’s Republic of China.

Ungraded or raw bullion products are carefully made to retain the natural appearance of precious metals. Some of these pieces may display slight imperfections, spots, scratches, or dents, which can happen during production or shipping. However, these characteristics do not affect the value of the items. Large items might show more of these marks but maintain their value.
