Classic Liberty and Modern Bald Eagle
Obverse: The date can be found on this side of the coin, in the lower right portion of the design. Liberty is shown holding her torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. This classic design is the work of Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The Mint used legacy details and refereed to the original bronze cast to create a design more inline with Saint-Gaudens’ original inception.
Reverse: This reverse features the Eagle Portrait Type 2 design that replaced the Type 1 Family of Eagles design in mid-2021. Created by Jennie Norris, the design shows a single bald eagle from a very close perspective.
