Patriotic Designs from Weinman and Damstra
Obverse: The date is on this side of the coin near the lower edge. Liberty is depicted here. This stunning work of art was created by Adolph A. Weinman in the early 1900s. His artist initials, AW,” appear on the obverse as well. The design shows Liberty holding one arm in front of her while she carries a bundle of branches.
Reverse: The inscriptions here include the silver weight and face value. This design, known as the Type 2 Eagle Landing design, is the work of Emily Damstra. This design replaced the Type 1 Heraldic Eagle design in mid-2021. This reverse portrays a bald eagle carrying an oak branch as it descends.
