Breathtaking Silver Eagle Design
Obverse: Lady Liberty is depicted walking towards a new day’s sun on the obverse. Ms. Liberty is elegantly draped in the distinctive flag of the Unites States, while carrying bundle of oak and laurel branches. The image is accompanied by the inscriptions “LIBERTY,” “2023,” “IN GOD WE TRUST” and the artist’s monogram “AW.” This allegorical image of Liberty was originally designed for the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar by renowned early 20th century sculptor Adolph A. Weinman.
Reverse: An eagle is portrayed on the reverse with an oak branch gripped in its talons, as it gracefully lifts its wings to slow its descent. Inscribed “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and “ONE DOLLAR.” The Type-2 eagle landing image is an example of the work of award-winning illustrator Emily Damstra, a member of the U.S. Mint’s Artistic Infusion Program since 2014.
