Symbolic Liberty and Bald Eagle Designs
Obverse: This side of the coin shows Liberty. She is depicted wearing the stars and stripes as she walks across the sunny scene. Liberty has one arm extended while she carries a bundle of branches with the other. This classic numismatic design was created by Adolph Weinman, whose artist initials also appear on the obverse. Known as the Walking Liberty design, it first appeared on a half dollar in the 1900s.
Reverse: This design, known as the Eagle Landing design, is by Emily Damstra; it was introduced in 2021 and is now the series standard. A bald eagle is pictured as it descends from its flight, clutching an oak branch in its talons.
