Stunning Patriotic Icons
Obverse: This side shows a classic Liberty design that was created in the early 1900s by Adolph A. Weinman and was first used for the Walking Liberty half dollar. Weinman’s initials, “AW,” also appear on this face of the coin.
Reverse: The silver weight is inscribed on this side of the coin. The stunning bald eagle on this side is the work of Emily Damstra. The Eagle is shown descending with an oak branch in its talons. This reverse design, known as the Type 2 Eagle Landing design, replaced the classic Type 1 Heraldic Eagle reverse in mid-2021 and is the standard moving forward.
