Inspiring Liberty and Bald Eagle Designs
Obverse: This side of the coin shows a classic design known as Walking Liberty. The original was first used in 1916, it was created by Adolph A. Weinman. Weinman’s artist initials, “AW,” also appears on this face of the coin.
Reverse: The Type 2 reverse that became the standard after 2021 shows a single bald eagle. The design displays a lifelike level of detail as it descends with an oak branch in its talons. This design is the work of Emily Damstra.
PCGS MS70 First Day of Issue with a Flag Label
This 2023 Silver Eagle has a label with a picture of the American flag to show its grade from the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). This example was awarded the grade of Mint State 70 and the First Day of Issue designation, meaning not only is this specimen completely flawless, but it was submitted withing 24 hours of its official release day as well.
