Magnificent Silver Eagle Design
Obverse: Lady Liberty casually walks towards the rising sun on the obverse, while enveloped in the folds of the U.S. flag. Inscribed “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “2022.” New to the Type-2 Silver Eagle is the inclusion of the “AW” monogram, which recognizes early 20th century sculptor Adolph A. Weinman for the patriotic design, which was initially created for the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar.
Reverse: On the reverse, an eagle is portrayed gripping a branch of oak, as it lifts its wings to slow its descent. Inscribed “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “ONE DOLLAR” and the “W” Mint mark. The Type-2 Eagle Landing graphic is credited to acclaimed artist Emily Damstra, a member of the U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program since 2014.

This 2022-W American Silver Eagle coin with a burnished finish was submitted to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) for review within thirty days of its release date, qualifying for the First Releases designation. For its remarkably sharp strike, exceptionally finished surfaces and outstanding eye appeal, the coin was awarded the nearly perfect grade of Mint State 69. The 1 oz. silver dollar is encapsulated in a sonically sealed NGC protective holder with a ModernCoinMart exclusive certification label featuring eagle themed imagery.
