Spectacularly Rendered Dragon and Qilin Design
Obverse: The likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse, facing right, with a jewel encrusted tiara upon her head. The portrait is encircled by the inscriptions “QUEEN ELIZABETH II,” “2 OZ 9999 SILVER,” “TUVALU,” “2 DOLLARS” and the year of issue “2022.” This effigy of Great Britain’s longest reigning monarch was created by acclaimed British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998.
Reverse: A dragon and a qilin are depicted on vibrant shades of red and gold on the reverse, with a scattering of auspicious clouds in the background. The mythical creatures encircle the taijitu symbol, the diagram which represents the balance and interdependence of the energies of yin and yang.
