Iconic Krugerrand Imagery
Obverse: The left facing profile image of the highly respected former South African President Paul Kruger is centered upon the obverse. The name of the issuing nation curves above in Afrikaans and English as “SUID-AFRIKA” and “SOUTH AFRICA.”
Reverse: The reverse features the national animal of South Africa, a springbok antelope, captured in a graceful leap over the grassy African savanna. Surrounding inscriptions include “KRUGERRAND,” “2022” and “FYNSILWER 2 OZ FINE SILVER R2.” The breathtaking wildlife scene was initially struck on the South African five shilling coin in 1948.
Proof 70 Ultra Cameo Excellence
This 2022 South Africa 2 oz. Silver Proof Krugerrand coin received the First Releases designation for its submission to the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) for review within thirty days of its release date. Possessing a flawless strike and perfectly finished surfaces, the coin was judged to be in Proof 70 condition. The coin was awarded the additional designation of Ultra Cameo (UC) for the outstanding amount of visual contrast between its frosted design elements and mirrored backgrounds. The proof coin is presented in a sonically sealed white core style NGC protective holder, accompanied by a certification label adorned with springbok antelope imagery. The graded coin will be packaged in a Mint branded pouch, along with a Silver Krugerrand series booklet and an Authenticity Certificate.
