Picturesque Una and the Lion Scene

REGINA F.D.,” “ST. HELENA” and “1 POUND.” This image of Great Britain’s longest reigning monarch created in 2015 is recognized as the fifth definitive coinage portrait of the Queen. Reverse: The rendition of Una and her companion lion featured on the reverse illustrates the duo in a beautiful garden setting, surrounded by foliage with a radiant stylized sun in the background. The Princess kneels with her lion, with their eyes locked in a steady gaze, as if silently conferring about the next phase of their quest. An ornately trimmed border encircles the image, bearing the inscriptions “UNA AND THE LION,” “1 OZ 999 AG” and “2022,” along with the East India Company’s distinctive “EIC” Mint mark.
