Battle Scene Decorated for the Holidays
Obverse: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the obverse in a right facing pose, wearing a beautifully detailed jewel encrusted tiara. The image of the monarch is encircled by the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II,” “NIUE,” “TWO DOLLARS” and “2022.” The effigy is recognized as the fourth definitive coinage portrait of the Queen, which was designed in 1998 by renowned British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley.
Reverse: Iconic action of the Battle of Hoth is illustrated on the reverse, featuring an AT-AT Walker™ engaged in battle with Luke Skywalker™ in his T-47 airspeeder™. Blue-tinted snow drifts rise in the background, while an array of snowflakes swirl through the image. A whimsical holiday twist has been added to the fierce battle, including reindeer antlers attached to the head of the walker, the substitution of red and green holiday lights for the speeder’s tow cable, and a bright red declaration of “MERRY FORCE BE WITH YOU” to complete the scene. “1 OZ 999 FINE SILVER” and licensing credit to Lucasfilm Ltd. curve below the image.
