Charming Umbrella Design
Obverse: The obverse is graced with the right facing image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II wearing a jeweled tiara, located at the center of the umbrella shape. The umbrella canopy also includes the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II,” “NIUE” and “999 FINE SILVER,” along with the coin’s “2022” date of issue and denomination of “1 DOLLAR.” This rendition of Great Britain’s longest reigning monarch has appeared on coinage of the Commonwealth realms since 1998. The likeness is credited to acclaimed British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley.
Reverse: The reverse features a simplified umbrella shape at the center. The coin is coated with a golden color reminiscent of the Dalgona Honeycomb candy, including the slightly darkened outline of the umbrella shape to represent the cut-out impression.
