Striking Twickel Castle Design
Obverse: The obverse bears a striking look at the famous Twickel Castle. Per the Dutch Mint Act, the design features a knight, which is known in Dutch as Godard van Reede, in the foreground. Along the rim are the inscriptions “Moneta Nova Argenta Regni Belgii” (Latin for “New Silver Coins of the Kingdom of Belgium”) and “TRAN,” which represents the province of Overijssel.
Reverse: At the center of the reverse is the coat of arms of the Netherlands. The crowned shield is flanked by the first and last two digits of the date, “2022.” The rim inscription on this face reads, “CONCORDIA RES PARVAE CRESCUNT” (Unity makes Strength).
