Obverse: The obverse features the portrait of baseball great and Negro League founder Rube Foster. His signature is depicted on the lower right of the coin. The obverse was designed by Laurie Musser of the Mint’s Artistic Infusion Program.
Reverse: The reverse design features a baseball hat being tipped, or raised in a sign of thanks and respect. The inscription “Their Legacy Plays On” is the inscription that dominates the reverse. The reverse was designed by Donna Weaver, a seasoned artist who participates in the Mint’s A.I.P.
