Amazingly Detailed Commemorative Design
Obverse: A right facing portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, encircled by the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II,” “1 DOLLAR,” “COOK ISLANDS” and “2022” is positioned in a framed circular dome on the obverse. A meticulously detailed three dimensional map of the Giza Pyramid complex is located around the effigy, in which the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure are clearly visible, along with the distinctive shape of the Great Sphinx. The Giza Necropolis was added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1979.
Reverse: The reverse features the forward facing images of three Pharaohs, Akhenaten, Thutmosis III and Sobekneferu, the first female Pharaoh.
