Powerful Walking Liberty Design by Adolph Weinman
Obverse: The obverse design comes from Adolph Weinman’s Walking Liberty Half Dollar. An American flag-draped Liberty carries laurel and oak branches as the morning sun emerges from beyond the horizon. Obverse inscriptions read, “LIBERTY,” “2022,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.” Adolph Weinman was a German immigrant who specialized in sculpture. His most famous designs feature on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar and the Mercury Dime.
Reverse: On the reverse is an Eagle Landing design that was created by Emily Damstra and sculpted by Michael Gaudioso. America’s national bird carries an oak branch in its talons as it prepares to land with its wings spread. Reverse inscriptions read, “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and “1 OZ. FINE SILVER.” Emily Damstra has an M.F.A. degree from the University of Michigan. She has contributed several coin designs since 2017.
