Early-year Silver Eagle releases will be the last of the series to be issued with the original Type I heraldic eagle reverse image crafted by the Mint’s 12th Chief Engraver, John Mercanti.

Inscribed “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST” and “2021.” This time-honored portrayal of Liberty was created by acclaimed sculptor Adolph A. Weinman for the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar.
Reverse: The heraldic eagle appears on the reverse, with a cluster of arrows and an olive branch in its grasp. Inscribed “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “W” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
