Recently Debuted Type-2 Silver Eagle Design
Obverse: The obverse features the classic numismatic image of Liberty walking across the coin. This design was created by numismatic legend Adolph Weinman and first appeared on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. The design focuses on Liberty striding across the face of the coin, one arm straining towards the new day while the other holds symbolic bunches of laurel and oak. Inscription on this face include the date, “2021,” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and Adolph Weinman’s artist initials “AW.”
Reverse: Emily Damstra, a member of the United States Mint’s Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) and renowned science illustrator designed the Type-2 Silver Eagle reverse. Dubbed the “Eagle Landing” design, a powerful American Eagle appears mid-flight grasping a sturdy branch for its nest. On this face you will find the “W” mint mark, denomination, “ONE DOLLAR,” UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” weight, “1 OZ FINE SILVER,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
